The Green & Seen Photography Contest is back for a second year, and we’re inviting you to capture the landscapes, wildlife, and quiet moments of nature that make Windsor-Essex unique. Whether it’s a familiar trail, a bird in flight, or something small you almost missed — we want to see how you experience the natural world around you.

This is your chance to showcase local beauty, tell a story through your lens, support sustainability in our community and win prizes!

How it Works:

We’re looking for vibrant, striking images that highlight Windsor-Essex’s unique natural character. How does nature inspire you? Show us!

This Year’s Categories

We’re introducing categories to help highlight different ways of seeing nature:

🕊 Wings of Windsor-Essex (Birds & Avian Life)
From migratory birds along the Detroit River to backyard regulars — capture the movement, character, and beauty of birdlife in our region.

🌼 Hidden in Plain Sight (Small Nature & Details)
Look closer. Pollinators, textures, reflections, and the details we often overlook — show us the small moments that make nature feel alive.

🌅 Landscapes of Home (Windsor-Essex Outdoors)
From marshes and shorelines to forests, fields, and urban green spaces — capture the places that shape our connection to nature.

What You Could Win:

Selected images won’t just be eligible to win one of three prizes—they’ll be featured across Windsor of Change’s digital platforms, in the Fall issue of Art Create Learn magazine, and in our projects and publications.
All selected entries will be featured on our socials and website — and from those, three prize winners will be chosen - one in each category.
(Think local goodies, sustainable swag, and bragging rights!)

Submission Guidelines:

✔ Maximum Entries: Up to 2 submissions per person
✔ File Format: JPEG or PNG
✔ Resolution: Minimum 300 DPI for high-quality images
✔ Deadline: May 31, 2026
✔ Submission: Digital-only (no physical prints)
